Dream Syndicate - KPFK Studios, September 5, 1982
Who needs Mediafire? There are tons of great live performances available over on Archive.org. Case in point: this stellar FM broadcast of the Dream Syndicate, capturing the original lineup on the verge of their masterpiece, The Days of Wine & Roses. It’s an extremely energetic, cocky and loose show, with a selection of raucous covers. Check out the utterly unhinged rendition of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch.” Both Steve Wynn and Kendra Smith went on to make excellent music in their subsequent careers, but none can deny that the original Dream Syndicate was something magical.

I sometimes feel like I grew up in a different 1980’s than my peers because this is one of the bands I think of when i think of 80’s music. This is a great set. It was available commercially for a while minus the song that gets cut off. Since that is out of print, go check the Archive version out.
